Suzy and David - I just want to say what a wonderful conversation on healing, writing, and finding what works for each of us without being tethered to a single “guru” who claims to know best. There was no manifest it or you’re doing it wrong here: just two people who deeply understand the ongoing nature of searching, trying and being okay with, I’ve done a good enough job for now… or maybe I haven’t.
On a personal note, I love that this was David’s first podcast. He has so much wisdom to offer, earned through reading, reflecting, experimenting, keeping what works, and letting go of what doesn’t. Humble, kind, intelligent, and grounded in the understanding that his path is his own and not something to be swallowed whole.
One piece that especially stood out for me, given what I do for a living, was the part about listening to the different “parts” of ourselves. Is this voice a younger part I’ve internalized from a parent or other important figure? Or is it a younger version of me that is wholly mine, not borrowed from anyone else? That distinction is so important and one I’ll be taking into my work with patients and into my own self-reflection as well. Thank you, David, for that.
And Suzy, I so appreciate the space you’re creating here for healers, seekers, the lost, and the cast out to ask the important questions of ourselves and to explore what healing really is. You’re helping us find ways to move through each day more connected to what matters. I bow in great honor.
You write the most awesomely supportive responses Dr. Rice. Whenever your name pops up I'm excited to hear what stuck out for you and anything else you have to say. ❤️
In this case it's especially neat what came through strongly for you, because it's such a new development (literally a week or two ago, on a motorbike..which is where a lot of the 'ah ha!' moments are happening lately).
Thanks to Suzy's awesome lines of questioning, it came up organically, even though I hadn't really given it much thought since that day. Love these synchronicities! 💜
I second, third and fifth ;o) that re @Dr. Bronce Rice’s responses…an absolute champion! Such a giver and genuine soul. 🙏🏻💫
And @David Deane Haskell , you helped me for the first time not have a list of questions…something I’m trying to wean myself off and be more fully present with the actual conversation in time…work in progress…so thank you!
